About the Role
The Dispute Resolution team are looking for a Legal Secretary who will provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to the Senior Partners. This role requires a high level of organisation, discretion, and a keen understanding of legal processes related to dispute resolution, including litigation, arbitration, and mediation.
Key Responsibilities
Administrative Support:
· Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, and other related materials.
· Manage and organise case files, both electronic and hard copies.
· Maintain and update the dispute resolution team’s calendar, including scheduling meetings, hearings, and appointments.
· Travel arrangements – Booking of Hotels, Flights and other travel
Case Management:
· Assist in the preparation and filing of court documents.
· Coordinate with clients, courts, and third-party agencies.
· Track case deadlines and ensure all filings are completed promptly.
Communication:
· Handle incoming and outgoing communications, including phone calls, emails, and mail.
· Liaise with clients and provide regular updates on case progress.
Research and Documentation:
· Prepare summaries and reports based on research findings.
· Assist in the preparation of briefs, pleadings, and other legal documents.
Financial Administration:
· Process billing and invoicing for client’s inkling BACS and CHAPS payments
· Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial reports.
· Manage expense reports and reimbursements for the dispute resolution team.
General Office Duties:
· Order and maintain office supplies.
· Ensure proper functioning of office equipment.
· Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Skills
· Previous experience as a Legal Secretary within Dispute Resolution, Litigation, Property Disputes, Insolvency or Restructuring.
· Previous dictation experience along with diary and travel management is a pre-requisite.
