1:1 Teaching Assistant Newton Heath

About the role:

Justteachers Teaching Agency are currently working with a supportive and welcoming primary school in the Newton Heath area who are looking to appoint a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil within a Year 1 classroom.

This is a full-time role with an immediate start preferred. The position is expected to continue until the end of the current academic year, with a strong possibility of being extended into the new school year for the successful candidate.

The school has a caring and inclusive environment where staff work closely together to ensure pupils receive the support they need to thrive both academically and emotionally. Key Responsibilities:

• Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil within a Year 1 classroom
• Supporting the child’s learning, engagement, and emotional wellbeing throughout the school day
• Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement support strategies
• Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive behaviour

Pre-requisites:

• Two education based references
• Experience working in a Primary setting
• The willingness to be flexible across the school
• An enhanced clear DBS
