<strong>Financial Controller</strong><br><strong>Leicester</strong><br><strong>Permanent</strong><br><strong>Full Time hours, Monday to Friday</strong><br><strong>Up to £65,000 pa</strong><br><br><strong>Benefits of the Financial Controller role include: 32 days holiday (including bank holidays), bonus scheme, pension scheme and free on-site parking.</strong><br><br>We are recruiting for an experienced Financial Controller to join a well-established business based in Leicester. This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially aware finance professional to take ownership of the finance function, support senior leadership with financial reporting and analysis, and help drive continued business growth.<br><br>This Financial Controller role will involve overseeing day-to-day finance operations, managing financial reporting processes, and supporting strategic decision making across the business. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial management.<br><br>This is a varied and hands-on Financial Controller position suited to someone who enjoys working closely with operational teams, improving processes, and supporting a growing business environment.<br><br>What You’ll Be Doing<br><br>Key responsibilities of the Financial Controller will include:<br><br>• Producing monthly management accounts, forecasts, and financial reports for senior management<br>• Managing budgeting processes and providing detailed variance analysis<br>• Overseeing cashflow forecasting and financial planning activities<br>• Leading month-end and year-end processes, ensuring deadlines are met accurately<br>• Managing audit preparation and liaising with external accountants and auditors<br>• Supervising and supporting the finance team with day-to-day responsibilities and development<br>• Reviewing and improving financial processes, controls, and reporting procedures<br>• Supporting senior leadership with financial analysis and commercial decision making<br>• Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and company procedures<br>• Managing balance sheet reconciliations, VAT returns, and statutory reporting requirements<br><br>What We’re Looking For<br><br>To be successful in this Financial Controller role, you’ll need:<br><br>• Previous experience within a Financial Controller, Finance Manager, or senior finance position<br>• Ideally fully qualified ACCA, CIMA, or ACA, although strong qualified by experience candidates will also be considered<br>• Experience producing management accounts, budgets, and financial forecasts<br>• Strong understanding of financial reporting and cashflow management<br>• Previous experience managing or mentoring finance staff<br>• Strong IT skills including Microsoft Excel and experience using accounting software or ERP systems<br>• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work closely with stakeholders across the business<br>• A proactive and commercially aware approach with strong attention to detail<br>• The ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively within a fast-paced environment<br><br>If you’re an experienced Financial Controller looking for a role where you can take ownership of the finance function and play a key part in supporting business growth, we’d like to hear from you.
