About the Role

<p>We are seeking a full-time Building Information Modeling Specialist in our Knoxville, TN location. The ideal candidate should have a fundamental understanding of structural design principles to assist in the creation and detailing of intricate framing systems. This position requires the ability to work independently or collaboratively to produce precise models and contract drawings that adhere to internal and external design criteria. Projects will vary from enhancements or modifications to existing buildings to the design of new structures exceeding 800,000 square feet.</p>
<h4><strong>Duties:</strong></h4>
<ul>
<li>Ensure the accuracy of the BIM model and contract drawings.</li>
<li>Aid in updating or revising company drawing standards, including template models, detail database, and drawing or quality control procedures.</li>
<li>Conduct a thorough self-review as a quality control measure before submission for engineer or project manager evaluation to ensure compliance with project delivery criteria established based on internal guidelines and client/project specifications.</li>
<li>Provide modeling or detailing support for projects outside the primary focus area or for other company locations as needed.</li>

<h4><strong>Requirements:</strong></h4>
<h5><strong>Credentials:</strong></h5>
<ul>
<li>Completion of an Associates Degree in Engineering Technology</li>
<li>Minimum of 3 years experience in the construction or structural engineering field</li>
<li>Familiarity with standard industry software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, BIM360, and Navisworks</li>
<li>Basic understanding of commercial building codes and relevant structural design material references</li>
<li>Basic knowledge of building systems</li>
<li>Capability to produce BIM models, individually or as part of a team, adhering to specified parameters including model templates, detail libraries, and internal or external design standards</li>
</ul>
<h5><strong>Abilities and Qualities:</strong></h5>
<ul>
<li>Proficiency in specialized industry tools like Grasshopper, Dynamo, Rhino, Civil3D, and Tekla</li>
<li>Ability to create and adapt specialized families within Revit for project purposes</li>
<li>Comprehensive understanding of BIM software, with the capability to troubleshoot and problem solve swiftly</li>
<li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills</li>
<li>Aptitude for working in a dynamic team environment, managing various projects, tasks, and deadlines, and successfully completing each one</li>
