- Inpatient hospital setting in Willamette, Oregon
- Schedule: Partial in-house shifts and on-call coverage (weeknight beeper and 24-hour weekend beeper)
- Coverage Dates: July and August with ongoing shifts of approximately 10 per month
- Shifts: 7am-7am at Willamette, with credentialing at Newberg for 5am-5am shifts (priority at Willamette)
- Guaranteed hours: 8 hours per day
- Flexible scheduling with sporadic days, potential for paired dates
- Provider must stay within 30 minutes of the hospital
Schedule Details
- Partial in-house coverage: 6-8 hours daily (7am-1pm or 7am-3pm) billable hours
- Night call: Beeper call from 1pm or 3pm until 7am next morning
- Call type: Weeknight Beeper and 24 Hour Weekend Beeper Call
- Ongoing need for approximately 10 shifts per month
Clinical Scope
- Neonatal resuscitation and stabilization
- Newborn rounding and management
- Intubation of newborns
- Umbilical vein catheter placement
- Needle decompression for pneumothorax
- Chest X-ray interpretation
- Required skills include: resuscitation, newborn stabilization, unpredictable neonatal procedures
- Preferred skills include: Lumbar puncture, EKG interpretation, circumcision procedures
- Minimal callback rate (<25%)
Practice Environment
This opportunity is based at a community hospital in Willamette, Oregon, featuring neonatal inpatient care with a focus on newborn stabilization and resuscitation. Providers will utilize their skills in a dynamic, flexible schedule with partial in-person and on-call duties, ensuring comprehensive neonatal care delivery.
Requirements
- Active Oregon Nurse Practitioner license
- Board Certified in Neonatal or Family Practice with neonatal experience
- DEA registration required
- BLS, NRP, and Stabile certification required
- Two years of neonatal case logs required
- Minimum of 2 years neonatal experience with resuscitation skills (intubation, UVC, needle decompression, x-ray interpretation)
Preferred Qualifications
- Skills in lumbar puncture, EKG interpretation, and circumcision procedures (all preferred but not mandatory)
