Budget Analyst

Express Employment Professionals of Windsor is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Financial Analyst to support one of our clients in downtown Hartford. This role plays a critical part in leveraging data to inform decision makers on optimizing financial and operational performance and delivering actionable insights to senior leadership. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytic skills, financial acumen, and the ability to translate complex data into meaningful business recommendations. The position offers fabulous visibility to the Sr. Leadership team.

Location: Downtown Hartford, CT

Shift: 1st shift, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday-Friday. 

Starting salary of $60,000 DOE.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with CEO/CFO to analyze departmental budgets and identify opportunities.
• Evaluate daily operational activities to ensure budget allocations align with organizational priorities and financial objectives.
• Conduct comprehensive cost analyses, audits, and financial reviews.
• Utilize data analysis tools and IT systems to support financial modeling, reporting, and strategic initiatives.
• Assist in program delivery as well as preparation of data collection and departmental reports. 
• Review payroll and expenditure data for compliance with organizational standards and identification of budget variances.
• Monitor performance of vendors and contractors, conducting studies of relative KPIs to identify deficiencies and opportunities for improvements.

Qualifications:

• Batchelor's degree in finance, accounting, public administration, business administration, economics or closely related field. 
• Three years experience in budgetary, financial, statistical and/or operational analysis.
• Skilled in process improvement principles - Lean/Six Sigma experience and certification highly desired. 
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadline-driven projects.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and quality.
• Ability to turn researched data into actionable and cost-saving directives.
