About the Role
Our client, a global leader in aerospace engineering and manufacturing, has an immediate need for qualified Purchasing Manager/Leader, to join our growing team in Springfield.
Our candidate of choice will be responsible for leading a seven-person team and driving sourcing, logistics, planning, negotiations, and procurement to support company operations. You will ensure optimal quality, cost, delivery, and supplier performance while managing procurement strategies and vendor relationships.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and implement purchasing strategies aligned with company goals
Lead, train, and evaluate procurement, logistics and planning staff (team of 7).
Develop and roll-out Processes and Procedures for Procurement staff.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to achieve cost savings
Monitor supplier performance and resolve quality or delivery issues
Analyze market trends and forecast supply needs
Collaborate with finance, operations, and production teams to align purchasing plans
Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards
Maintain accurate procurement records and reports
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or a related field
Demonstrated leadership of procurement teams in a manufacturing environment.
Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management
Strong negotiation and contract management skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement software
Strong communication and vendor relationship management skills
Ability to manage budgets and control costs
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
