My client is seeking a <strong>Mechanical Building Services Engineer</strong> to join their well-established consultancy based in North Bristol. <p><strong> Location:</strong> North Bristol<br /><strong> Salary:</strong> £40,000 – £55,000 (dependent on experience)<br /><strong> Contract:</strong> Full-time, permanent | 37.5 hours per week | Hybrid & flexible working</p>

<h2>Day-to-Day</h2>
<p>Your typical day may include:</p>

<li>Developing detailed mechanical designs and specifications for building services projects.</li>
<li>Attending design meetings with clients, architects, and contractors to discuss project requirements.</li>
<li>Conducting site visits to oversee installation and commissioning activities.</li>
<li>Reviewing and approving technical drawings and calculations.</li>
<li>Supporting junior engineers with technical queries and professional development.</li>
<li>Managing project schedules and budgets to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.</li>
</ul>
<h2>Responsibilities</h2>
<p>As a Mechanical Engineer, you will:</p>
<ul>
<li>Lead the mechanical design process across all RIBA stages, ensuring high-quality and sustainable solutions.</li>
<li>Deliver energy-efficient designs for both new build and refurbishment projects across multiple sectors.</li>
<li>Collaborate closely with architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to achieve project goals.</li>
<li>Oversee installation, commissioning, and site activities to ensure successful project delivery.</li>
<li>Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers, fostering their professional growth.</li>
<li>Manage project delivery, including budgets, timelines, and client communication.</li>
</ul>
<h2>Qualifications</h2>
<p>To excel in this role, you should have:</p>
<ul>
<li>Proven experience in delivering UK building services projects.</li>
<li>A strong understanding of RIBA stages and the ability to lead projects through all phases.</li>
<li>A solid background in mechanical design for both new build and refurbishment projects.</li>
<li>Confidence in client-facing roles and project leadership responsibilities.</li>
<li>Proficiency in tools such as Revit/BIM, IESVE, and AutoCAD (beneficial but not essential).</li>
<li>A relevant degree, HND, or HNC in Mechanical Engineering (CIBSE membership or working towards it is ideal).</li>
