Performance Analyst (Data Engineer – Advanced Analytics)

Location: London / Remote
Rate: Up to £500 per day
Clearance: BPSS required to start

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Performance Analyst to support product teams by delivering high-quality data insights and actionable reporting. You will play a key role in enabling data-driven decision-making by developing dashboards, analysing performance, and defining meaningful KPIs.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a collaborative, cross-functional environment, partnering with product managers, designers, developers, and data teams to enhance analytics capability and improve digital products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and analytics reports
  • Translate business and product requirements into clear KPIs and reporting solutions
  • Deliver ad-hoc analysis to support product improvements and decision-making
  • Design and optimise dashboards with consistent metrics and time-based comparisons
  • Ensure data quality, governance, and alignment across multiple data sources
  • Apply measurement frameworks to support long-term analytics strategy
  • Collaborate closely with product, analytics, and data engineering teams

Key Technical Skills

  • Strong experience in Power BI visualisation (or equivalent)
  • Experience working with data platforms such as Databricks (or similar)
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL
  • Experience optimising large-scale queries and managing compute resources/clusters

Soft Skills

  • Self-starter with the ability to manage workload independently
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Proactive and adaptable, managing multiple workstreams effectively
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams (Agile and/or Waterfall)
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Adobe Analytics or other web analytics tools
  • Exposure to data lake architectures or strong relational database experience
  • Familiarity with Generative AI projects
  • Experience working on large-scale digital applications
