Frequently Asked Questions Recruitment Tips, Application & Criteria What info should you include on your resume and cover letter (if applicable)? When preparing your application, start by reviewing the job description. Highlight the keywords and key skills listed in the role, and make sure these are easy to spot on your resume. A cover letter isn’t required, but it’s a great way to share more about yourself. Whether you’re beginning your career, switching fields, or stepping into a senior role, it can help show your excitement for the position and how your experience connects to the opportunity. Remember, both your resume and cover letter (if submitted) should clearly reflect your alignment with the role and why you’re the perfect fit. Does the length of my resume matter? Not necessarily. A concise resume that clearly showcases your value is ideal, but we also appreciate the depth of your experience. The key is to focus on the most relevant parts of your background that align with the role you’re applying for. What if I need to relocate? If you plan to relocate while going through the interview process, please communicate this information to your recruiter. If you are an employee of Contentsquare seeking internal mobility, speak with your manager and People Business Partner. Why does my time zone or region matter for a remote job? At Contentsquare, many roles have time zone requirements to best align with our customers’ needs. For example, Customer Success roles often require overlap with the time zones of the customers they support.  While we appreciate your enthusiasm to work across time zones, we prioritize maintaining a healthy work-life balance for all of our employees. If a job posting lists a country rather than a specific city, it usually means there’s some flexibility with time zones. Why are some roles listed as remote and others listed as hybrid? Whether a role is remote or hybrid depends on several factors, including the nature of the job, time zone requirements, and team collaboration needs. Management makes these decisions  to promote fairness and engagement across teams.  We are committed to transparency and consistency in these choices. Be sure to check the job description for more details! How do I refer someone to an open role? Is there an incentive? Contentsquare's External Referral Program encourages non-employees to refer friends or family for open roles. In return, Contentsquare will make a charitable donation on your behalf. Policy details: Referrals are valid for 6 months from the date of submission Only candidates who meet the essential qualifications will be considered If a candidate is referred by multiple people, the first person to submit the referral will receive the incentive There's no limit to the number of referrals you can make How to refer someone: Send the candidate’s resume to refer-a-friend@contentsquare.com. You’ll receive an email confirming your submission. Please note that certain rules, restrictions, and eligibility criteria apply. While this program is ongoing, Contentsquare reserves the right to change it at any time. Any questions or clarifications will be managed by the Talent Acquisition Team. Any tips for best presenting myself during a video interview? Here are some helpful tips to set yourself up for success: Dress the part: while our work attire is casual, we always recommend dressing professionally for an interview. Confirm your access: make sure you can log into our video conferencing tool ahead of time. Log in early: join the meeting 5-10 minutes early to check for any technical issues. If something comes up, let your recruiter know! Turn off notifications: silence notifications on your computer and phone to stay focused. Test your tech: ensure that both your camera and audio work, and make sure to turn them both on. Be ready to share your screen, if necessary Choose the right environment: find a quiet space, free from distractions (but no worries if children or pets make an appearance—we’re human too!) Try to make virtual eye contact! How should I prepare for an interview with Contentsquare? A background check typically verifies that the information you have provided your recruiter during the hiring process is factually correct. It may also include: Public record checks, such as checks to confirm your identity Criminal record searches  Adverse credit history  Adverse media coverage that could affect suitability for the role (but it’s always up to the employer to decide that) If you’d like more details about what your screening will cover, don’t hesitate to ask your recruiter before the process begins. How far back do background checks go? The time frame for a background check can vary depending on what’s legal in your country. Please check with your recruiter to understand the full scope of the background check and how far back it will go. Will you contact my current employer? HireRight, our background check platform, will never contact your current employer without your explicit permission. As part of the application process, you’ll be asked whether we can contact your current employer immediately, after a certain date, or not at all—and we will always respect your preference. Share your feedback We're always looking for ways to improve our candidate experience. Share your thoughts through our Candidate Experience Survey or directly with your recruiter—we’d love to hear from you!
