<p>We are recruiting a <strong>Lead Veterinary Surgeon</strong> to join a well-established small animal practice in <strong>Liverpool</strong>. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a senior clinical role within a <strong>7-vet team</strong>, working closely with the passionate practice owner to shape the future of the clinic.</p>
<p>This position would suit a confident, well-rounded GP vet with strong interests in <strong>both medicine and surgery</strong>, who enjoys mentoring others and creating a positive team culture. If you’re someone who leads by example, values collaboration, and takes pride in developing junior vets and nurses, this could be the ideal next step.</p>
<p>You’ll work closely with the Leading owner to help guide the clinical direction and long-term success of the practice. There is also <strong>future partnership potential</strong> for the right individual as the role evolves.</p>

<h3><u><strong>The Role</strong></u></h3>
<p>This is a <strong>full-time position across 4 days per week</strong>, with <strong>1 in 3 Saturdays</strong>. The role combines hands-on clinical work with leadership responsibilities, giving you the chance to influence both clinical standards and team development.</p>
<p>The practice is <strong>well-equipped and soon to undergo refurbishment</strong>, with facilities including:</p>
<ul>
<li>Digital X-ray
<li>Ultrasound
<li>Brand-new laparoscopy equipment
<li>Dedicated dental suite
<li>Access to advanced imaging, surgery and hospitalisation through a nearby 24-hour hospital

<h3><u><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></u></h3>
<ul>
<li>Provide high-quality clinical care in both consultations and surgery
<li>Lead and support a team of veterinary surgeons and nurses
<li>Mentor and develop junior team members
<li>Build strong relationships with clients and deliver tailored treatment plans
<li>Maintain high clinical and regulatory standards
<li>Contribute to the commercial success and growth of the practice
<li>Help shape the clinical direction alongside the Owner
</ul>
<h3><u><strong>Requirements</strong></u></h3>
<ul>
<li>Qualified <strong>MRCVS Veterinary Surgeon</strong>
<li>Strong all-round GP experience in small animal practice
<li>Confidence in both medicine and surgery
<li>Previous mentoring or leadership experience beneficial
<li>Good commercial awareness and interest in practice growth
<li>Passion for delivering excellent patient and client care

<h3><u><strong>Salary & Benefits</strong></u></h3>

<li>Salary up to £95,000 (depending on experience)
<li>Quarterly bonus scheme – up to 20% if targets are met
<li>4-day working week
<li>1 in 3 Saturdays
<li>5 weeks’ annual leave plus Bank Holidays (rising with service)
<li>£1,500 CPD allowance + 3 days CPD leave
<li>Certificate support available
<li>RCVS, VDS and BVA fees paid
<li>Relocation support and visa sponsorship available
