UVA Temps is an in-house agency that recruits a labor force of qualified candidates and places them in a range of temporary positions across the University.
Temporary Specialized Professional assignments offer flexible and meaningful work opportunities that can range from short-term projects lasting a few days to longer engagements with no predetermined end date. Assignment length and scope vary based on the evolving needs of our university partners.
We seek talented professionals with diverse expertise who are interested in contributing their skills through part-time or full-time temporary assignments. These roles provide an opportunity to support impactful initiatives, gain valuable experience, and collaborate across a wide range of professional environments at UVA.

Qualifications Overview

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Skills & Abilities
Advanced knowledge of principles and practices within a designated professional field
Demonstrated professional-level customer service and interpersonal communication skills
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with the ability to learn and train on new computerized systems
Strong attention to detail, sound problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to maintain confidentiality while managing competing priorities
Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, students, patients, vendors, and visitors in a professional university environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Relevant certification or professional licensure (as applicable).
Skills & Experience
One or more years of experience in a related professional field, preferably within an academic environment
Familiarity with University of Virginia policies, procedures, and internal systems such as Workday, SIS, Salesforce, and Advance
