Mechanical Design Engineer

A long‑established engineering and manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to develop food processing machinery and bespoke stainless‑steel equipment. Ideal for someone with strong SolidWorks, 3D CAD, and Design for Manufacture (DFM) skills. Role Responsibilities: Design mechanical products and food machinery from concept to manufacture. Create 3D models and assemblies using SolidWorks. Produce detailed manufacturing drawings with materials, weld symbols, and tolerances. Apply DFM for stainless‑steel fabrication and hygienic equipment design. Develop conveyors, frames, guarding, processing equipment, and related assemblies. Collaborate with fabrication and production teams to optimise manufacturability. Support product improvements and innovation.
