Job Description
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies to support production continuity, cost efficiency, and on-time delivery.
- Source, negotiate, and manage suppliers, contracts, pricing agreements, and service levels.
- Monitor inventory levels and purchasing activities to ensure optimal stock availability and control costs.
- Analyse market trends and supplier performance to identify savings opportunities, mitigate risks, and resolve supply issues.
- Lead procurement operations, ensuring compliance, reporting on key metrics, and driving process improvements.
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate would have:
- Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, including supplier and contract management.
- Strong negotiation, vendor management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in ERP/procurement systems, Microsoft Excel, reporting, and budget management.
- Effective communicator with the ability to manage priorities and deadlines.
- Procurement certifications would be advantageous e.g. CIPS, CPSM, CPIM.
