Job Description The Kinetic Group is a world leader in the design, manufacturing, and distribution of small caliber ammunition under the iconic brands B&P, CCI, Federal Premium, Fiocchi, HEVI-Shot, Remington and Speer. The Facilities Maintenance Tinsmith is responsible for planning, fabricating, assembling, installing, and repairing sheet metal components and systems to support facility and manufacturing operations. This role involves reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications, performing precise metal finishing and assembly using hand and power tools, and completing welding or fastening tasks. The position also supports equipment maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations, along with other duties as assigned. This position reports to the Operations Manager and is based out of our Anoka Location Shift 5: Monday-Thursday 2pm-12am ($.55/hour Shift Differential) What you’ll do: Plans, lays out, fabricates, assembles, installs, and repairs sheet metal parts, equipment, and products, utilizing knowledge of working characteristics of metallic and nonmetallic materials, machining, and layout techniques, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches, or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal products. Trims, files, grinds, deburrs, buffs, and smooth’s surfaces, using hand tools and portable power tools. Welds, solders, bolts, rivets, screws, clips, caulks, or bonds component parts to assemble products, using hand tools, power tools, and equipment. Assists in maintaining manufacturing operation through the performance of machine maintenance and troubleshooting. Other work as directed. Experience you bring: Basic sheet metal experience and understanding simple layouts that deal with “tapers” “funnels” and “square to round” designs 1+ years of verifiable shop experience, or 2 years of relevant education Ability to perform at average productivity level while maintaining quality & safety standards established for the operation Demonstrated above average mechanical ability Demonstrated effective written and interpersonal communication skills Demonstrated leadership/organizational skills Ability to work cooperatively with a minimum of supervision Ability to weld, braze, and solder all types of metals (steel, aluminum, etc.) with proficiency Ability to rivet effectively Experience grinding, filing, and threading metals Welding certification or related job experience You might have: 2 year technical degree Electronic experience or education Knowledge of/experience in pneumatics, hydraulics, welding Personal computer skills Physical Requirements: Majority of the time is spent identifying the problems that need repair by listening and talking with other associates. Frequent lifting up to 10 pounds with occasional lifting, pushing, and pulling of weights up to 50 pounds. Stooping/Kneeling/Crouching/Crawling required for carpet installation and/or cement work. Must have normal depth perception capability. Mental Requirements: Reading and attention to detail required. Basic math required to read blueprints and working on lathe. Must be flexible and have the ability to cope with stress from multiple job assignments and deadlines, as well as constant interruptions from the telephone and beeper. Equipment Used: Shears, welders, press brake and other metal working tools. Working Environment: Incumbent subject to fumes, dirt, dust, mist and gases when in plant. Regular production floor work causes exposure to mechanical/electrical equipment hazards as well as burning material (welding). Some time spent doing maintenance outdoors, thus exposure to temperature changes and wetness is inevitable. Approximately 50% of the time spent work with or around others. Work Environment: Employee work assignments may include tasks working with and/or exposure to potentially hazardous areas, including flammables and explosives. Safety training is provided to all employees to ensure compliance with company and federal regulations. Pay Range: $34.59 - $38.58 The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
