About the Role

<p>Anderson Knight is working with a leading business based in the West Midlands Our Client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a background in utilities, civil engineering, or construction to support multiple live projects across the business. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring robust commercial and cost management processes are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.</p> <p>Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, you will be responsible for maximising project profitability, managing commercial risk, and maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and external stakeholders.</p> <p><b>Key Responsibilities</b></p> <ul> <li>Provide commercial expertise across designated projects to maximise financial returns</li> <li>Produce accurate monthly cost and value forecasts for all projects</li> <li>Manage and administer change control processes effectively</li> <li>Liaise with clients and external stakeholders regarding: Variations, Claims, Applications and payments &amp; Contractual matters</li> <li>Support contract administration and ensure compliance with contractual obligations</li> <li>Implement and maintain effective commercial processes across the business</li> <li>Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and external partners</li> <li>Monitor project performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability</li> <li>Minimise commercial risk through the application of best practice</li> <li>Ensure positive project cash flow is maintained at all times</li> <li>Assist with procurement and subcontractor management where required</li> <li>Prepare and present commercial reports to senior management</li> </ul> <p><b>Skills &amp; Experience Required</b></p> <ul> <li>Previous experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within utilities, civils, infrastructure, or construction</li> <li>Strong understanding of commercial management and contract administration</li> <li>Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously</li> <li>Knowledge of standard forms of contract (NEC preferred)</li> <li>Strong negotiation and communication skills</li> <li>Excellent analytical and financial management abilities</li> <li>Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment</li> <li>Proficient in Microsoft Excel and commercial reporting tools</li> </ul> <p><b>Qualifications</b></p> <ul> <li>Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or related discipline</li> <li>Membership of RICS or working towards chartership desirable</li> <li>Full UK driving licence preferred</li> </ul> <p>To apply for this position please click on the link below.</p>
