About the Role
Staff Accountant
Location: Napa Valley, California
Salary Range: $80,000 -$90,000 annually (DOE) plus excellent benefits package

Position Overview
Reporting to the Controller, the Staff Accountant will support day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and financial reporting. This role offers the opportunity to work in the dynamic wine industry while developing broad accounting skills across production, hospitality, and direct-to-consumer sales channels.
Key Responsibilities
General Accounting
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions in a timely and accurate manner
Perform monthly bank reconciliations and credit card reconciliations
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
Prepare monthly journal entries and account analysis
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
Support inventory accounting for wine production, bottled goods, and tasting room merchandise
Maintain fixed asset records and process depreciation schedules
Administrative Support
Coordinate with tasting room and wine club teams on revenue reconciliation
Work with production team on harvest accounting and cost tracking
Assist with vendor management and invoice processing
Support HR with timesheet review and expense report processing
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred
2-4 years of accounting experience; wine industry experience is a plus
Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles
Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or similar ERP systems)
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling)
Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
