SEND Support TA - Primary - Huddersfield

About the Role:

Justteachers is recruiting a compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for a long-term role in a primary school in Huddersfield. The school is committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment where pupils with additional needs can thrive. A permanent opportunity is available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
• Support pupils to access learning and engage positively in classroom activities.
• Implement individual learning, behaviour and support plans.
• Support pupils’ social, emotional and communication development.
• Work closely with class teachers, the SENCO and external professionals where required.
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.

Pre-requisites:

• Experience supporting pupils with SEND in a school setting.
• Knowledge of additional needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH or Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) is desirable.
• A patient, caring and proactive approach.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and practice.
• Ability to provide two education-based references.
