About the Role
A school in Shropshire is seeking a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant to support students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young people who may face challenges engaging with education. In this role, you will provide targeted behavioural support, build positive relationships, and help students develop the skills needed to regulate their behaviour and succeed academically.
The Role
As a Behaviour Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will:
Support students with SEMH needs on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
Build strong, trusting relationships to encourage engagement in learning
Implement effective behaviour management strategies
Work closely with teachers and support staff to create a consistent and supportive environment
Help students develop emotional resilience and positive coping strategies
About You
We are looking for someone who:
Has experience working as a Teaching Assistant or supporting young people with SEMH needs
Is confident, proactive, and able to manage challenging behaviour positively
Is passionate about improving outcomes for vulnerable students
Has strong communication and relationship-building skills
Holds knowledge of behaviour management strategies

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
