About the Role
Compensation: 100-120k
Scrum Master:
If you enjoy developing Scaled Agile portfolios while guiding teams to follow Agile and Scrum practices, then you will be excited about this Scrum Master III opportunity. As a Scrum Master III, you will support multiple development teams on a new enterprise-scale effort already underway. In this role, you will independently deliver high-quality work and drive projects and deliverables to completion in support of delivering software that meets critical customer needs. You will work as part of the projectâs Agile development team and be responsible for providing teams guidance on best practices and support in running Scrum and Kanban. You will thrive in this role if you excel at building relationships, proactively solving problems, and fostering collaboration among geographically dispersed teams.
What you will do
Support and execute Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and retrospectives
Collaborate with Product Owners and Agile Teams on requirements decomposition, backlog grooming, refinement, and story prioritization
Provide recommendations based on Agile metrics and performance insights
Work with customers to understand their priorities and ensure development teams align story work to those priorities
Create and maintain JIRA boards, backlogs, and burn-down reports to support sprint execution
Monitor metrics and team performance at the sprint, PI, and program levels, and communicate progress to stakeholders
Update Agile tracking systems to provide transparency on product backlogs and in-progress work
Ensure teams are following Agile/Scrum/SAFe principles of collaboration, prioritization, accountability, and visibility
Facilitate continuous process improvement, retrospectives, and incorporation of lessons learned
Proactively identify and evaluate areas for process enhancements
Support preparation efforts by contributing to high?level design documentation, including business rules, constraints, and assumptions
Build strong working relationships with internal personnel and team members
Ensure adherence to Earned Value best practices within the Agile framework for accurate program performance tracking
Skills
Bachelorâs degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field
5+ years of software development lifecycle experience
In-depth knowledge of Agile methodologies, specifically Scrum and Kanban
Experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA and Confluence)
Prior experience serving as a Scrum Master for Agile development teams
Ability to identify and diagnose business or process improvements
Strong communication skills for presenting products, deliverables, analyses, and issues
Analytical mindset and strong critical thinking skills
Ability to manage upward, communicate proactively, and seek help when needed
Confidence in building relationships across teams
Strong ownership and prioritization skills
Interest in continuous self-improvement and learning
Nice to have
Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification
Experience supporting geographically dispersed Agile teams
Working knowledge of or certification in SAFe methodology
Experience supporting Program Increment planning
Familiarity with government or regulated industry project lifecycles
Advanced proficiency in Excel
