About the Role

Blue Legal are partnered with a leading international law firm who are recruiting for a Business Development & Marketing Manager to join their London office on a Maternity Cover basis. As a Business Development and Marketing Manager, you are responsible for managing marketing and business development projects, executing sophisticated events both in person and online and assisting in the production of marketing materials in the London office. The Responsibilities:  Develop and maintain strong, trusted relationships with firm leadership, lawyers and business services colleagues by exercising sound judgment and demonstrating a confident, tactful and resilient approach. Deliver strategic insight and commercial perspective to support decision-making, streamline processes and ensure marketing and events activity aligns with wider firm priorities. Lead the planning, delivery, and post-event evaluation of London-based events, both virtual and in-person, ensuring seamless execution across logistics such as invitation planning, guest management, materials, branding, venue coordination and onsite support. Oversee the creation and dissemination of communications for events, sponsorships, and marketing initiatives, maintaining consistency of messaging and alignment with overall strategy. Coordinate legal directory submissions, including gathering contributions, managing updates, tracking referee feedback and supporting the promotion of rankings. Manage the firm’s involvement in conferences and external events, including negotiating sponsorship arrangements, maximising exposure and overseeing related deliverables such as invitations, marketing materials, and branded assets. Serve as a key liaison between senior stakeholders, internal teams and external suppliers, ensuring smooth coordination and high-quality delivery. Guide the development and refinement of pitches, proposals, and credential materials, ensuring they reflect the firm’s positioning and respond effectively to client requirements. Handle multiple marketing and business development initiatives simultaneously, prioritising effectively to meet deadlines and stakeholder expectations. The Candidate: Educated to degree level, preferably in business, marketing, or a related discipline. 7 years+ experience within a similar role at a law firm, with at least two of these years as a manager. Strong organisational, communication and writing skills and a capacity to work comfortably in a rapidly changing environment on multiple ongoing projects. Proficient in Microsoft Suite. Experience managing Zoom events including breakout rooms, polls etc preferred. Experience using Vuture or similar e-marketing tools. Experience with CRM and experience management system preferred.
