Jobs and training Work placements - Belfast City Council We’re one of the largest employers in Belfast and we’re keen to support those who need help getting on the employment ladder, whether you have just graduated, are a school leaver, have a disability or are long-term unemployed. We work with a range of employability partners, for example, Department for Communities, disability organisations and women’s sector organisations to offer placement opportunities through a range of schemes and initiatives. We also provide: - short-term unpaid placements to those in education requiring work experience - paid one-year industrial placement opportunities for students undertaking relevant undergraduate courses at university in a range of areas including building control, environmental health, events management, and IT. If you are interested in gaining short term unpaid work experience with us, email your request to workplacements@belfastcity.gov.uk As part of our employability outreach programme, we’re committed to providing 150 work experience placement opportunities each year.
