Travel: Quarterly travel to the Washington, DC area (Tuesday–Thursday)</p>
<h4>About the Role</h4>
<p>We are seeking a software-first engineer with deep infrastructure expertise—someone who builds systems <em>on</em> AWS, not just deploys to it. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys developing cloud-native services, shaping infrastructure through code, and working across application and platform boundaries.</p>
<p>The position is remote-first, with intentional quarterly in-person collaboration in the DC area.</p>
<h4>What You’ll Do</h4>
<ul>
<li>
<p>Design and develop cloud-native software systems with scalability, reliability, and security in mind</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Build, extend, and maintain AWS infrastructure through code rather than manual configuration</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Develop internal services, tooling, and platforms that support infrastructure and operations</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Collaborate closely with software, infrastructure, and security teams in a classified environment</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Contribute to architectural decisions and long-term technical strategy</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Participate in quarterly in-person planning and collaboration sessions in the DC area</p>
</li>
</ul>
<h4>Required Qualifications</h4>
<ul>
<li>
<p>Active TS/SCI clearance</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Strong software engineering background with an infrastructure mindset</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Proficiency in Go (Golang), or strong experience with C, C++, or Python</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Hands-on experience developing solutions within AWS, beyond basic service consumption</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Experience building or maintaining distributed systems or cloud-native applications</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Ability to work effectively in a remote-first environment with periodic on-site collaboration</p>
</li>
</ul>
<h4>Nice to Have</h4>
<ul>
<li>
<p>Infrastructure-as-Code experience (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK, etc.)</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Experience building internal platforms, developer tooling, or cloud services</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Familiarity with secure, regulated, or classified environments</p>
</li>
</ul>
