Job Title: Trainee Powered Access Engineer
Working Hours: Monday – Friday days
Salary: £35,000
Overtime paid at 1.5
About the Company:
Our client is looking for a mechanically minded Trainee Powered Access Engineer to join their busy Bristol depot. This is an exciting hands-on role within a supportive workshop environment, ideal for someone from an automotive, plant, access, or construction background who is eager to develop their skills in hydraulic and lifting systems. While experience is beneficial, the right attitude and willingness to learn are equally valued.
Key Responsibilities:
Servicing and repairing hydraulic booms and lifting systems
Inspecting outriggers, slewing mechanisms, and safety-critical components
Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical and hydraulic faults
Supporting LOLER inspections (training can be provided if required)
Completing pre-delivery inspections (PDIs)
Participating in an on-call rota when needed
Assisting the workshop team with general maintenance and repairs

Requirements:
Background in plant, agricultural, access, or construction equipment desirable
Mechanical knowledge and understanding of hydraulic systems
Time-served experience or recognised mechanical qualifications preferred
Full UK driving licence
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a depot environment
Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and reliability
