About the role:
justteachers are recruiting on behalf of a specialist independent school for a dedicated and enthusiastic full-time KS3 Teaching Assistant to join their committed team from September on a long-term, supply basis. The school provides education and care for pupils aged 5 to 19 with social, emotional and mental health needs, offering a nurturing and structured environment where students can flourish both academically and personally.
As a KS3 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support students across Key Stage 3, helping them to engage with learning, develop confidence, and achieve their individual goals. You will play a key role in creating a positive classroom environment and supporting pupils’ social, emotional and behavioural development.
Key Responsibilities:
Support pupils in accessing the curriculum and engaging in learning activities.
Work alongside teachers to deliver tailored interventions and classroom support.
Build positive, trusting relationships with students.
Encourage independence, resilience and personal development.
Support the implementation of behaviour management strategies.
Assist in monitoring and recording pupil progress.
Contribute to a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Pre-requisites:
Has experience working with children or young people, ideally within an educational or care setting.
Demonstrates patience, empathy and resilience.
Is committed to supporting pupils with additional needs.
Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Can remain calm and adaptable in a dynamic environment.
Holds a relevant qualification or is willing to undertake further training.
All successful candidates will need to hold an Enhanced DBS check alongside a minimum of 2 professional references from within the last 2 years.
