We are looking for a full-time, HR Generalist. The HR Generalist is responsible for the on-site execution of Human Resources strategy in our Brooklyn location. Reporting to the Senior HR Business Partner, this role serves as a key partner to site leadership, ensuring alignment between business objectives and HR initiatives. This position oversees core HR operations including payroll and time & attendance, employee engagement and talent acquisition.

Compensation ranges from $85,000 to $95,000 depending on experience.

Role requires fluency in Spanish to support day‑to‑day operations and employee communication.

What You’ll Do:

  • Payroll & Time and Attendance Oversight:

  • Oversee payroll processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely submission for hourly and salaried employees (exempt and non-exempt)

  • Manage time and attendance systems, ensuring proper tracking, approvals, and adherence to company policies

  • Partner with managers to resolve discrepancies and drive accountability for accurate time reporting.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws

  • Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning:

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment efforts for the site, including hourly and salaried roles

  • Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies

  • Coordinate interviews, manage candidate experience, and support offer processes.

  • Monitor hiring metrics and support workforce planning initiatives to meet operational demands

  • Employee Engagement & Culture:

  • Lead and execute employee engagement initiatives to promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture Oversee employee recognition programs, events, and site-level engagement activities

  • Partner with leadership to drive morale, retention, and overall employee satisfaction

  • Gather feedback and analyze engagement trends to inform action planning

  • HR Strategy Execution & Business Partnership:

  • Partner with the General Manager and site leadership (Operations and Commercial) to support business growth and workforce planning

  • Provide guidance and coaching to managers on HR policies, employee relations and performance management

  • Support the execution of strategic initiatives tied to Vision100 and overall site performance

  • Performance Management, Labor Relations & Compliance:

  • Interpret collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) to ensure consistent application across the site

  • Support grievance processes, including fact-finding, documentation, and resolution in alignment with contractual obligations

  • Partner with managers to address employee relations matters, ensuring adherence to due process and union protocols

  • Conduct investigations and maintain thorough, compliant documentation

What You Bring:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred

Technical Skills:

  • 3–7+ years of progressive HR experience

  • Experience in Flexible packaging and/or printing, converting equipment a plus.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes, timekeeping systems, and employment laws

  • Proven experience in recruiting and employee engagement initiatives

  • Demonstrated ability to partner with leadership and influence decision-making

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills

  • Skilled in building and maintaining effective relationships with union representatives and stewards

  • Strong understanding of collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) with the ability to interpret, apply, and administer contract provisions consistently and fairly

  • Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite
