About the Role
We are currently looking for HSE Director, join our HSE Team in Prague, Brno or České Budějovice. The HSE Director is responsible for establishing, leading, and continuously improving the company’s Health & Safety, Fire Protection, Environmental Management, and Health Management, management systems, and compliance framework. This senior leadership role ensures that all business operations adhere to applicable legal, regulatory, and corporate requirements, while fostering a strong culture of safety, environmental responsibility, and operational discipline across the organization including external parties. This position serves as a key advisor to top leadership and provides strategic guidance, governance, and oversight for all HSE activities.
In this role you will be responsible for...
Strategic Leadership
Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive HSE strategy aligned with corporate goals, regulatory obligations, and industry best practices.
Actively connect, exchange and participate in E.ON global HSE community and team projects and initiatives, ensure smooth local cascade and implementation.
Provide expert guidance to top leadership on HSE performance, risks, and improvement opportunities.
Lead the development of E.ON Czech group wide HSE policies, programs, and performance indicators and ensure they are consistently applied across all segments and locations including contractors and external parties and contractors.
Compliance & Governance
Ensure full compliance with country HSE legislation as well as corporate governance requirements.
Oversee internal and external HSE audits, risk assessments, and inspections, ensuring timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
Maintain and enhance management systems in accordance with applicable ISO standards (e.g. 45001).
Coordinate all related processes of injury reporting, equipment inspections, PPE, ergonomics, job categorization and occupational medical checks and others.
Risk Management
Identify, assess, and mitigate HSE risks across all operations, including process safety, occupational health, environmental impact, and emergency preparedness.
Direct the investigation of incidents and ensure robust root-cause analysis, documentation, and reporting as well as corrective actions.
Operational Execution
Oversee development and delivery of HSE training programs to ensure awareness, competency, and correct application of safety practices across the workforce including external partners.
Monitor and analyze HSE performance metrics; implement programs to improve leading and lagging indicators.
Ensure effective coordination of HSE activities across the group including external partners.
Leading and developing teams of HSE department.
Culture & Engagement
Promote a proactive and accountable safety culture, emphasizing prevention, continuous improvement, lead the managers towards the culture of shared responsibility.
Lead communication of HSE expectations, changes in legislation, lessons learned from incidents, and best practices across the organization.

Strong, proven leadership experience and change management skills are essential for this role.
A strong ability to influence at executive level and collaborate across cross-functional teams is required.
Excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making skills, together with strong accountability and integrity and readiness to accept responsibility for a given area, are key to success.
Knowledge of HSE legislation, regulatory frameworks, and industry standards, as well as previous leadership experience in developing and managing HSE systems in a complex operational environment, are considered a plus.
You have C1/C2 English proficiency.
Strong people management skills are expected.
You are an active driver and do not mind travelling on business.
Strong time management skills are important.
The ability to prioritize and drive effectiveness is essential.
