The Department of Facilities Management supports the mission of the University of Denver's physical resources in order to provide a healthy and safe educational environment for campus community through services of the departments of Capital Projects and Planning, Facilities Management, Parking & Mobility Services, Auxiliaries & Real Estate, and Business & Operations.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Facility Management & Campus Operations in the Department of Facilities Management, the Lead Electronic Systems is a non-exempt (hourly) position that provides technology solutions and support for campus life safety and security systems. This position supports fire alarm systems, intrusion and panic alarm systems, camera surveillance systems, and C-Cure access control systems. The position is responsible for annual inspections of fire alarm systems in accordance with NFPA 72 regulations and other equipment required by the City and County of Denver.
The support requirements for the C-Cure access control system, camera surveillance systems, and intrusion and panic alarm systems are limited to the hardware component.
The position requires the employee to maintain a working relationship with other service Departments (ie. IT@DU, Telephone Services, Campus Safety, etc.). The position requires the employee to work on-call for emergencies on a 24/7 basis on a rotating schedule with a response to the campus on emergency callouts within a designated period after notification. The position requires the employee to maintain a clean driving record in accordance with the University of Denver driving policies.

Working Environment
Works in a standard to small office environment. 50% at workstation, 50% in the field working with other Departments on development of specific unit plans. Unexpected interruptions occur frequently, and stress levels are moderate. The noise level is usually quiet to moderate. There are occasions where the employee will be exposed to all types of outdoor weather conditions. Additionally, this position may occasionally be called to work different hours or locations; the position also serves as an “on-call” technician on a rotating basis.
Physical Activities
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to sit and or stand for prolonged periods of time. May also be required to routinely lift 25 pounds and occasionally 50 pounds. This position generally works equal amounts of time indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. May be expected to work on a ladder up to 20 feet above the ground for extended periods of time. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, night vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

The salary grade for the position is 12.
Hourly Range:
The hourly range for the position is $37.00-$40.00
