About the Role

Mission Brief  As a Vibration Test Engineer, you will perform dynamic tests (shock and vibration) during the development, qualification and acceptance of components and subsystems for our Launch Vehicle. You will work at our vibration test facilities and help our development teams with dynamic tests. Additionally, you will participate in testing at external facilities when required. You will be in close contact with the avionics, propulsion, and launch vehicle teams, being one of the first to operate their parts on simulated flight conditions and helping figure out the failure modes and improvements needed.   Your Role in Our Space Mission:  <ul> <li>Perform Vibration and Shock tests at internal and external facilities </li> <li>Develop/procure new test equipment when necessary</li> <li>Plan, prepare, execute tests, process data, and write reports</li> <li>Participate with other teams to prepare test specifications and be their consultant for all questions related to dynamic tests</li> <li>Develop and maintain internal test standards and procedures</li> <li>Operate and continuously improve the facilities</li> <li>Proactively improve test facilities with a focus to cover all test requirements while helping to increase launch cadence</li> <li>Design and procure necessary test fixtures</li> <li>Work hands-on with test set-up</li> </ul> Qualification Checklist  <ul> <li>B.Sc / M.Sc in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or similar </li> <li>Experience in hardware qualification & acceptance for aerospace more specifically in vibration and shock testing</li> <li>Experience in performing structure-related qualification tests (i.e., random vibration, sine-sweep, sine dwell, mechanical shock, centrifuge) as per industry standards</li> <li>Hands-on work experience with test equipment like electrodynamic shakers, shock test equipment, DAQ systems, accelerometers, and other types of transducers for vibration & shock measurements</li> <li>Experience in selection of appropriate transducers and cables in accordance with the tests to be performed</li> <li>Understanding of Aerospace test standards such MIL, SMCS, ECSS etc. and command over it to perform test requirement tailoring </li> <li>Familiarity with time and frequency domain data processing</li> <li>Experience in test plan, procedure, and report preparation as per the requirements of customers and expectations of authorities</li> <li>Knowledge of fixture design for vibration & shock testing</li> <li>Essential knowledge of strength of materials and structural dynamics, ability to do hand-calculations when needed</li> <li>Ability to perform in high-stress environments, maintaining focus and concentration for long durations</li> <li>Adapting sufficiently and quickly to a changing work environment</li> <li>High quality and safety mindset paired with a high attention to detail and can-do attitude</li> <li>Communicate actively and openly in a constructive manner</li> <li>Fluent in English (written and spoken)</li> </ul> Benefits  <ul> <li>Employee Participation Program: Share in our success through our virtual company share program</li> <li>30 days of vacation: Enjoy the days off to relax and recharge</li> <li>Company pension plan: Secure your future with our company pension plan, featuring a 20% employer contribution after the probation period</li> <li>Subsidised lunch: Stay energised with delicious, subsidised lunches every day</li> <li>Public transport ticket: Commute with ease using a fully financed Deutschlandticket</li> <li>Sport Clubs membership: Stay fit with our sponsored sports club memberships (EGYM Wellpass)</li> <li>Individual learning allowance: Grow your skills with an individual learning budget granted after the probation period</li> <li>Childcare allowance: Receive a childcare allowance for your non-school-age children</li> <li>And Much More!
