About the Role
The tool and die maker will design, plan, fabricate, assemble and maintain tooling.
A Day In The Life
Fabricate and repair stamp tooling, including punches, dies, and assemblies.
Collaborate with production teams to ensure parts meet dimension tolerances and quality standards.
Troubleshoot and optimize designs by collaborating with engineering and production teams to resolve die-related issues and improve design for manufacturability.
Participate in new tooling try-outs or engineering changes to ensure safety and process accuracy.
Recommend tooling repairs or outsourcing when necessary.
Sub assembly & bench fitting of precision tools
Produce high accuracy components and sub-assemblies.
Perform preventative maintenance on tooling to increase lifespan
Design fixtures / tools, put those designs on CAD/CAM/3D drawings, identify the correct metal to be used.
Other duties as assigned.
What will help you thrive in this role?
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in CNC operation is highly preferred.
Previous tool and die experience (3 years).
Knowledge of stamping tools, both progressive and transfer, as well as basic press and feeder knowledge required.
Must have good machining skills including setup and be able to machine a component to set dimensions.
CAD/CAM/3D experience required
