Project Manager - Water Projects Location: East of England Working pattern: Hybrid, full timeLead the delivery of major capital water projects as part of one of the UK's most ambitious infrastructure alliances. This is a Project Manager role with full lifecycle responsibility, overseeing complex programmes from initial need through to construction, handover and warranty management.You will drive safe, compliant, commercially sound delivery while building high-performing teams capable of solving complex engineering challenges across major infrastructure schemes.The roleAs Project Manager - Major Water Projects, you will take ownership of large-scale construction programmes within the water sector, ensuring delivery to time, cost, quality and regulatory standards. You will operate strategically, translating programme-level objectives into practical delivery plans and leading multidisciplinary teams across engineering, commercial and planning functions.Key responsibilitiesLead delivery of major capital projects up to £100m across the full project lifecycleEnsure compliance with CDM regulations, health & safety standards and governance processesChampion a Zero Harm culture through audits, peer reviews and continuous improvement initiativesBuild and develop high-performing project teams across engineering, commercial and operational disciplinesTranslate programme strategy into clear deliverables, ensuring teams understand priorities and expectationsMaintain oversight of project scope, construction delivery, handover and post-completion warranty managementWork collaboratively with Commercial and Planning teams to manage budgets, forecasts and resourcesEnsure solutions are safe, commercially viable and aligned to project and regulatory requirementsDeliver key project milestones including Project Rehearsals and Fit for AssemblyPromote collaborative working across alliance partners to drive innovation and knowledge sharingRequirementsProven Project Manager experience delivering major construction or infrastructure projects (£30m+)Experience within the water sector desirable, though major civil engineering or infrastructure backgrounds consideredStrong knowledge of CDM regulations, Health & Safety compliance and construction best practiceIOSH qualification (or equivalent)Experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneouslyUnderstanding of NEC contracts (Option C preferred)APMP qualification desirableStrong stakeholder management and communication skillsDemonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teamsStrategic mindset with the ability to balance commercial, operational and technical prioritiesWhy apply?Opportunity to lead high-value, nationally significant infrastructure projectsWork within a highly respected UK alliance environmentHybrid working with flexibilityStrong pipeline of secured projects providing long-term career stabilityCompetitive salary and benefits packageClear progression opportunities into Programme or Senior Leadership rolesApply now to play a key role in shaping the future of UK water infrastructure and delivering projects that make a lasting environmental and community impact.
