Lawyer - Data Management & Policy Specialist Salary: £92k Contract: Permanent Location: Birmingham (Hybrid - minimum 40% office attendance) We are seeking an experienced Data Lawyer to join a high-performing Enforcement Division at the forefront of complex, high-profile regulatory investigations. This is a specialist role focusing on data management and policy within an enforcement context. Key Responsibilities: Support the Information Asset Owner and data management team on business-critical data workstreams Develop and implement data management strategy and policy in compliance with UK GDPR, DPA, FOIA and relevant legislation Provide high-quality, practical legal advice on data protection and related policy matters Lead updates to data management policies and procedures Draft guidance for case teams on legislative changes and best practice Work closely with Legal Services, IT specialists and multi-disciplinary enforcement teams Engage with government departments, regulators and external agencies Deliver training on data management compliance Instruct specialist counsel on complex or high-risk legal issues About You: Qualified solicitor or barrister with 6+ years' experience in data protection law GDPR Information Law Proven litigation experience Strong expertise in UK GDPR, DPA, FOIA and handling sensitive data Experience within a regulator, prosecuting authority or disciplinary body Excellent analytical, drafting and communication skills Strong project management and ability to work under pressure Proactive, collaborative and adaptable Benefits Include: 30 days' annual leave plus flexible bank holidays 10% employer pension contribution Hybrid working and strong work/life balance Please apply today to be considered!
