SEMH Teaching Assistant – Kettering

About the role:

Justteachers is recruiting an SEMH Teaching Assistant for a specialist school in Kettering. This rewarding full-time position starts in September 2026 and involves supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs. Key Responsibilities:

• Support pupils with SEMH needs in lessons and around school
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
• Build trusting relationships with students
• Assist with behaviour management strategies and interventions
• Work collaboratively with teachers and pastoral staff

Pre-requisites:

• Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs
• Resilient, calm, and adaptable nature
• Excellent communication skills
• Enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to obtain one
• Two references within the last two years from a related field
