ROLE OVERVIEW
We are partnering with a growing multi-site healthcare organization seeking an experienced Director of Operations to oversee day-to-day clinic operations, performance, and team leadership across multiple locations. This role ensures high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, efficient workflows, and operational excellence.
The ideal leader brings strong healthcare operations experience, thrives in fast-moving environments, and excels at building structure, accountability, and consistent execution. This individual works closely with providers and care teams to support quality initiatives, including closing care gaps, completing Annual Wellness Visits, strengthening documentation to improve outcomes, and supporting value-based care performance metrics such as RAF and HEDIS.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead daily operations across assigned clinic sites to ensure efficient patient flow, staffing, and resource management.
Implement standardized processes and workflows for consistency and quality.
Monitor operational metrics (wait times, staffing, patient feedback, productivity).
Identify gaps and partner with leadership to execute improvement plans.
Leadership & Talent Management
Lead, mentor, and develop clinic teams and supervisors.
Partner with HR and leadership on hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management.
Conduct regular site visits to ensure alignment and team engagement.
Foster a culture of accountability, respect, and service excellence.
Compliance & Quality Oversight
Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies (HIPAA, OSHA, safety protocols).
Oversee facility safety, operational readiness, and policy adherence.
Support audits and regulatory reviews.
Partner with clinical leadership to support quality initiatives tied to HEDIS measures, care gap closure, and documentation accuracy.
Financial & Operational Awareness
Support budgeting and monitor operational expenses.
Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency.
Maintain oversight of inventory to ensure clinics are properly equipped.
Revenue Cycle & Cross-Functional Partnership
Collaborate with billing leadership to ensure effective workflows related to eligibility, documentation, and claims readiness.
Identify operational drivers of denials or delays and support corrective measures.
Strengthen alignment between front office, clinical teams, and billing operations.
Support accurate and timely clinical documentation practices that contribute to RAF score optimization.
Note: This role partners with revenue cycle teams but does not directly own revenue operations.
Patient Experience
Ensure a high standard of patient service across all locations.
Support clinic managers in timely issue resolution.
Monitor patient satisfaction and drive improvements.
QUALIFICATIONS
3–5+ years of experience in healthcare operations, clinic management, or multi-site leadership.
Experience in a primary care setting (e.g., medical group, FQHC, PACE, or similar).
Proven success leading teams in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
Experience implementing workflows, operational processes, and compliance standards.
Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency using operational systems and metrics.
Demonstrated experience supporting value-based care initiatives, including:
RAF score improvement and/or risk adjustment support
HEDIS quality measures and care gap closure
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field (experience may substitute).
Experience with billing workflows or revenue cycle support.
Multi-site operational leadership strongly preferred.
Experience in Medicare Advantage, PACE, or other value-based care models.
