We are seeking a Diesel Mechanic for assignment in The Villages, Florida. The selected candidate will maintain, diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical and powertrain systems on heavy-duty waste vehicles to ensure DOT compliance and operational safety.


Hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm


** This position has a pay rate of $25/hr **


Responsibilities
- Performing oil changes, inspections and safety checks on diesel engines, suspensions and brake systems
- Troubleshooting complex hydraulic and electrical systems specific to sanitation equipment (compactors, lift arms)
- Replacing hydraulic cylinders, hoses, diesel engines and transmission parts
- Ensuring all vehicles meet Department of Transportation (DOT) and OSHA safety standards


Qualifications
- A valid Drivers License
- 2+ years heavy duty equipment maintenance
- Proficiency with diesel engine diagnostic software and troubleshooting electrical systems is a plus
