The role focuses on strengthening the quality and consistency of CP case management, MHPSS, and coordination in line with CPiE standards. The CP Coordinator will ensure that interventions are technically sound, aligned with national CP AoR guidance, and responsive to emergency needs, particularly for high-risk children. The position will provide technical oversight, supervision, support, systems strengthening, and capacity building to field teams while supporting coordination with relevant government authorities and Child Protection actors. This position is part of DRC’s Mobile Response Team (MRT), which operates in hard-to-reach and underserved areas of South Sudan affected by conflict or natural disasters.. Your main duties and responsibilities will be: 1. Technical Leadership and Quality Assurance (60%) Provide technical oversight and guidance to MRT teams on Child Protection in Emergencies (CPiE) interventions. Strengthen CP case management systems in line with CP AoR and inter-agency case management standards. Provide technical guidance and oversight on Best Interest Procedures (BIP) and support the integration of Monitoring and Reporting Mechanisms (MRM) for the six grave violations against children, ensuring field teams are aware of key standards and processes. Strengthen identification, documentation, referral, and follow-up of unaccompanied and separated children (UASC). Ensure age-appropriate MHPSS and awareness activities are aligned with PSS principles and responsive to children’s needs. Develop/adapt technical tools, SOPs, referral pathways, and guidance notes as needed. 2. Capacity Building and Systems Strengthening (20%) Oversee and ensure the effective delivery of technical trainings for Child Protection (CP) staff on case management, CPIMS, UASC procedures, and MHPS Support Team Leaders in establishing structured case supervision and quality review mechanisms. Identify capacity gaps and develop targeted technical improvement plans. Promote integration of CP across other protection components where relevant. 3. Coordination and Representation (15%) Represent the project in relevant CP coordination platforms in collaboration with the Protection Cluster. Support information sharing and inter-agency referral systems at national and field levels. 4. Programme Support and Reporting (5%) Provide technical input for donor reporting on CP activities.
