The Calibration Engineer I will be responsible for developing powertrain calibrations for future automotive products. The role will support the design and development of powertrain hardware, controls software, and other vehicle systems. The Calibration Engineer I will be mentored and supported by team members on project work and customer interactions. This position will be located in Livonia, MI. <br><br><strong>As a Calibration Engineer I, you will:</strong><ul><li>Carry out dynamometer and/or vehicle-based calibration development</li><li>Perform hot climate, cold climate, and high-altitude development testing to meet customer objectives</li><li>Analyze test results and review findings with team members to calibrate the powertrain control system</li><li>Coordinate instrumentation and test equipment set-up</li><li>Calibrate all aspects of powertrain function, including core engine and transmission control features, electronic throttle control and reliability monitor, OBDII, tailpipe and evaporative emissions and auxiliary subsystems</li><li>Provide positive technical contributions in a project team environment</li></ul><strong>To be considered a Calibration Engineer I, you will need:</strong><ul><li>Bachelor of Science in mechanical, automotive, electrical engineering or similar field</li><li>Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future employer sponsorship</li><li>Ability to read and interpret controls algorithms presented in MATLAB Simulink or C-based software documentation</li><li>Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite</li><li>Basic knowledge of internal combustion engine (ICE) operating principals</li><li>Valid driver's license with the ability to pass our MVR standards</li><li>Good intrapersonal, verbal and written communication skills</li></ul><strong>Preferred skills and experience:</strong><ul><li>Hands-on experience / strong knowledge with internal combustion engine-based powertrains, such as FSAE or BAJA</li><li>Experience using commercially available calibration tool software (e.g., ETAS INCA, ATI VISION) and engine dynamometer-based mapping or hardware development experience</li><li>Experience with the Scientific Method, data analysis and reporting obtained through coursework or work experience</li><li>Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle</li><li>Data processing with MATLAB and automated script writing</li><li>Strong Microsoft Excel skills</li></ul><div style="text-align:center;"><strong>Our full-time benefits include: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, earned sick time, STD, LTD, 401K, tuition reimbursement, paid vacation, paid holidays, and <a href="https://www.roush.com/join-us/#life-at-roush">more</a>.</strong><br>If you share our passion for providing innovative solutions to complex challenges, we want you on our team.<br>Please visit our careers page and apply by clicking on this link: <a href="https://jobs.roush.com/us/en/">https://jobs.roush.com/us/en</a>/<br>Visit our website: <a href="https://jobs.roush.com/%22www.roush.com/%22">www.roush.com</a><br>Like us on Facebook: <a href="https://jobs.roush.com/%22www.facebook.com/RoushCareers/%22">www.facebook.com/RoushCareers</a><br>Roush is an EO employer – Veterans/Disabled and other protected categories<br>If you need a reasonable accommodation for our employment application process<br><span style="font-size:8px;">#LI-DNI<br>#JT</span></div>
