About the Role
This is a long-term 1:1 support role working with a young boy with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
The start date is flexible, with the opportunity to begin immediately or before September for the right candidate.
You will play a key role in supporting the pupil’s learning, communication, and engagement throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities
Provide consistent 1:1 support tailored to the pupil’s needs
Support classroom engagement and daily routines
Implement effective behaviour and communication strategies
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO
Encourage independence and social development
Maintain a safe, supportive, and structured environment
Requirements
Experience supporting children with ASD – essential
Understanding of autism-friendly strategies and approaches
Previous experience working in a school setting
Calm, patient, and resilient nature
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
Desirable
Experience in 1:1 roles
Knowledge of SEN strategies and interventions
