SEN Teaching Assistant Coventry September 2026

About the role:

justteachers is partnering with a welcoming secondary school in Coventry to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support students in Key Stage 4. This full-time opportunity runs from September 2026 until July 2027 and offers the chance to help students prepare for their GCSE studies while receiving the personalised support they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide classroom support for students with SEN across a range of subjects.
• Deliver targeted interventions under the direction of teaching staff.
• Support students with autism, ADHD, SEMH and other additional needs.
• Encourage positive behaviour and engagement with learning.
• Assist with implementing EHCP targets and support plans.
• Foster confidence, resilience and independence in students.

Pre-requisites:

• Experience supporting young people with SEN in a school or similar setting.
• Understanding of secondary education and inclusive practice.
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
• Flexible, proactive and reliable attitude.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
• Right to work in the UK.
