Job Summary:
A relaxed and friendly family based in Amersham are seeking a full-time housekeeper to support their busy household of six. This is a long-term role, as demonstrated by their previous housekeeper who stayed for 11 years, and they are looking for someone who will become a valued part of the home while maintaining professional boundaries. The position can be live-in or live-out, with a private studio apartment available.
The ideal candidate will be highly organised, proactive, and take pride in maintaining exceptionally high standards throughout the home. Responsibilities include full housekeeping, laundry, and occasional cooking, as well as ensuring the house runs smoothly, especially when the family is travelling. A confident driver is essential, and the candidate must be comfortable around large dogs.
General Duties:
Full housekeeping duties including cleaning and maintaining high standards
Laundry and ironing
Keeping the home organised and running smoothly
Monitoring household supplies and managing day-to-day needs
Ad hoc cooking for the family
Occasional school runs if required
House management and responsibility while the family is away
Maintaining a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment
Candidate Requirements:
Proficient in English
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
Proactive, able to use initiative, and work independently
Friendly and easy-going personality
Hardworking and reliable
Able to maintain professional boundaries
Comfortable in a busy household with teenage children
Dog-friendly (large dogs)
