Commercial Garage Door Technician

About the Role Our client, a respected leader in the overhead door and specialty construction sector, is expanding their commercial division in the Columbia, SC region. We are seeking an experienced Commercial Overhead Garage Door Installer to join their growing team. This is a field-based position offering stability, autonomy, and the chance to work with a company committed to craftsmanship and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Install and service commercial overhead doors, rolling steel doors, and dock levelers Set up and troubleshoot low-voltage motorized door systems Interpret and follow construction blueprints, layouts, and specifications Maintain a safe and organized work site at all times Operate hand tools, power tools, lifts, and ladders safely Communicate with customers to explain completed work and service needs Maintain inventory and service records Provide mentorship or leadership to junior installers, when needed Qualifications 3+ years of experience installing commercial overhead doors Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills Ability to lift 75+ pounds and work at heights Proficiency with power tools and safety protocols Familiarity with wiring diagrams and motorized systems Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Certification in door systems or OSHA safety (preferred, not required) Based in or willing to travel within 50 miles of Columbia, SC Compensation and Benefits Competitive hourly rate based on experience Overtime and performance bonuses available Company tools and vehicle support (where applicable) Training and growth opportunities within a stable, expanding company Positive team culture with professional leadership How to Apply Please email your resume or a summary of your experience to Chandan@constructionexecs.com Subject line: Commercial Door Installer – Columbia We look forward to speaking with you!
