About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join the Duty & Assessment Team in Oldham on a temporary contract, offering a competitive rate of £40 per hour (umbrella). This role is crucial in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and families within the community. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting assessments, providing support, and working collaboratively with various stakeholders to deliver effective interventions. Key responsibilities include: Conducting initial assessments and investigations in line with statutory requirements. Developing and implementing care plans that meet the needs of children and families. Managing a caseload of complex cases while ensuring timely and effective interventions. Collaborating with multi-agency teams to safeguard children and promote their welfare. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records in compliance with local policies and procedures. Providing advice and support to families, ensuring they have access to appropriate resources. The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills: A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent). Current registration with Social Work England. Proven experience in a similar role, particularly within a Duty & Assessment setting. Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make sound judgments. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to working collaboratively. Knowledge of relevant legislation and safeguarding practices.
