About the Role
<p data-start="106" data-end="123"><strong data-start="106" data-end="121">What Impact You'll Have:</strong></p>
<p data-start="125" data-end="541">Join a mission-focused team where your work truly matters. We are seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) Computer Vision Engineer to help build cutting-edge solutions that support critical national defense operations. This role combines hands-on development, advanced system-level thinking, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams including software engineers, systems integrators, and program managers.</p>
<p data-start="543" data-end="909">You’ll be at the forefront of designing and deploying real-time computer vision systems that perform in dynamic and often high-stakes environments. This is a results-driven role within an ML-Ops environment focused on delivering production-ready solutions, processing large-scale data, and ensuring robust model deployment and performance in real-world conditions.</p>
<p data-start="911" data-end="1143">In this role, you will lead full lifecycle systems engineering activities, ensuring the translation of mission requirements into scalable, effective, and supportable technical solutions across both software and integrated systems.</p>
<p data-start="1145" data-end="1168"><strong data-start="1145" data-end="1166">What You'll Be Owning: </strong></p>
<p data-start="1170" data-end="2569">• Design and implement advanced vision models for tasks such as object detection, tracking, scene understanding, and activity recognition.<br data-start="1308" data-end="1311">• Lead collaboration with engineering teams to integrate vision capabilities into complex defense systems.<br data-start="1417" data-end="1420">• Optimize performance for edge devices and embedded systems in operational environments.<br data-start="1509" data-end="1512">• Oversee testing and validation of computer vision systems to ensure mission readiness.<br data-start="1600" data-end="1603">• Lead system architecture, technical strategy, and full lifecycle systems engineering efforts.<br data-start="1698" data-end="1701">• Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk analyses, and supportability and effectiveness assessments.<br data-start="1853" data-end="1856">• Conduct and guide functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.<br data-start="2058" data-end="2061">• Support and influence system development across all lifecycle phases including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal.<br data-start="2229" data-end="2232">• Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer and product requirements into total systems solutions that account for technical, schedule, and cost constraints.<br data-start="2404" data-end="2407">• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and establish best practices across the team.<br data-start="2492" data-end="2495">• Maintain security and compliance throughout the development lifecycle.</p>
<p data-start="3236" data-end="3266"><strong data-start="3236" data-end="3264">What You Must Have:</strong></p>
<p data-start="3268" data-end="4319">• Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph eligibility.<br data-start="3321" data-end="3324">• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.<br data-start="3440" data-end="3443">• 14+ years of experience in computer vision, machine learning, or closely related fields.<br data-start="3598" data-end="3601">• Proficiency in Python and its ecosystem, including frameworks and libraries such as Flask, SQLAlchemy, Boto3, NumPy, and Pillow, as well as deep learning tools such as PyTorch and TensorFlow; experience with Swift (OpenStack client) is also required.<br data-start="3853" data-end="3856">• Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries for data retrieval, analysis, and management.<br data-start="3953" data-end="3956">• Deep experience with modern computer vision models such as YOLO, Faster R-CNN, and Vision Transformers.<br data-start="4061" data-end="4064">• Strong familiarity with OpenCV and classical computer vision techniques.<br data-start="4138" data-end="4141">• Advanced engineering fundamentals, including experience with Git, Docker, and CI/CD practices.<br data-start="4237" data-end="4240">• Experience with machine learning utilities such as MLflow, Optuna, and DVC.</p>
<p data-start="4321" data-end="4350"><strong data-start="4321" data-end="4348">What Would be Nice to Have: </strong></p>
<p data-start="4352" data-end="4709" data-is-last-node="" data-is-only-node="">• Experience supporting government or defense-related programs.<br data-start="4415" data-end="4418">• Extensive experience developing Python scripts for data automation, process optimization, and machine learning workflow implementation.<br data-start="4555" data-end="4558">• Knowledge of real-time video analytics, sensor fusion, or 3D perception.<br data-start="4632" data-end="4635">• Experience working within secure or classified development environments.</p>
