General Manager (Build to Rent)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead the launch of a brand-new, premium Build to Rent development in Leeds. Working with an owner-operator client, this role offers the chance to shape and define the resident experience from day one, setting the benchmark for modern, community-led rental living. This landmark development has high-quality apartments alongside a curated suite of resident amenities.

Salary: up to £65,000 per annum + Bonus

Location: Leeds

The Role

As General Manager, you will take full responsibility for the successful mobilisation, operation, and ongoing performance of the development. Acting as the on-site leader and brand ambassador, you will drive occupancy, revenue, and resident satisfaction while building a strong sense of community.

You will oversee all aspects of the operation—from leasing and facilities to resident engagement and team leadership—ensuring the asset is maintained to the highest standards and delivers a best-in-class living experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all on-site operations including leasing, maintenance, and resident services
• Recruit, develop, and inspire a high-performing team
• Create and deliver an outstanding resident experience with a strong focus on community building
• Drive leasing performance and establish corporate letting partnerships
• Manage budgets, financial performance, and reporting
• Ensure the asset is presented to a premium standard at all times
• Maintain full compliance with health, safety, and fire regulations
• Act as the face of the development, fostering strong relationships with residents and stakeholders

About You

• Proven experience in property management, Build to Rent, hospitality, or a related sector
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams
• Commercially astute with experience managing budgets and driving performance
• Passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and resident engagement
• Highly organised with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Knowledge of the local market and corporate lettings is advantageous
