As a Senior Data Engineer – Cloud & Big Data Platforms, you will be working for our client, an innovative leader in data-driven decision-making and cloud-based solutions. You will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and models that empower analytics, BI, and operational excellence. Your main responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain robust batch and streaming data pipelines ensuring seamless data flow and integrity Build and manage scalable data models for analytics, BI, and operational use cases Optimize ETL/ELT jobs and database performance for scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and software engineers to deliver high-quality datasets and actionable insights Monitor data workflows, troubleshoot production issues, and enhance observability and data quality Ensure data governance, security, and compliance across systems Continuously improve existing workflows and adopt best practices in data engineering You're ideal for this role if you have: At least 3 years of experience in data engineering or a related field Strong SQL skills combined with proficiency in Python and/or Scala Hands-on experience with data pipeline orchestration tools like Airflow Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling Experience working with cloud data platforms/services (AWS, Azure, or GCP) Familiarity with distributed data processing frameworks such as Spark Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, version control, and software engineering best practices Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams It is a strong plus if you have: (optional) Understanding of Atlassian products (Jira, Confluence) for workflow and collaboration Experience with object storage systems (Amazon S3, Azure Blob Storage, Google Cloud Storage, or S3-compatible storage) Language Required for the role: Fluent English (verbal and written) Eligibility for the role: Only candidates with an existing legal right to work in the European Union will be considered for this role.
