About the Role

Are you a senior HR leader ready to shape a truly strategic People function? We're seeking a forward‑thinking Head of People Partnering and Advisory within the education sector to lead the transformation of our advisory approach - moving from reactive casework to a proactive, insight‑led HR partnering model that drives organisational performance. In this pivotal role, you'll lead and develop a team of Strategic People Partners, embed workforce planning into leadership routines, and create the conditions for a more engaged, capable and stable workforce across the Trust. What you'll lead and deliver: A Strategic Partnering Model - formalising consistent standards, routines and expectations while embedding proactive People support into organisational planning cycles. Workforce Planning & Organisational Design - ensuring people priorities are integrated into business planning, using data and insight to anticipate workforce needs and risks. Stronger, Stabilised Employee Relations - setting quality standards, improving case management discipline, driving early intervention and maintaining constructive Trade Union relationships. Leadership Capability - equipping leaders with the skills, confidence and tools to manage performance, wellbeing and inclusive practice. Culture, Inclusion & Engagement - accelerating work across equity, belonging and employee experience, creating environments where staff and pupils can thrive. People Strategy Contribution - acting as a senior adviser to Executive Leaders and driving continuous improvement across people policies, systems and processes. What you'll bring: CIPD Level 5 or equivalent senior HR leadership experience Proven expertise in complex ER, including high‑risk and legal cases Experience leading organisational change and implementing new people partnering models Confidence influencing senior and executive leaders Strong knowledge of UK employment law, ideally gained in a public or publicly funded setting Desirable: Experience in education or multi‑academy trust environments, leading inclusion initiatives, or coaching People teams and leaders.
