Network Engineer

<p><strong>What You'll be Owning</strong></p> <ul> <li> <ul> <li>Configure and optimize network switches, routers and firewalls.</li> <li>Configure Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (IDPS)</li> <li>Configure and troubleshoot virtual networking, VLANs, and virtual routing and forwarding (VRFs).</li> <li>Develop and implement network backup and recovery procedures.</li> <li>Diagnose network connectivity problems.</li> <li>Install and maintain network infrastructure device operating system software.</li> <li>Monitor network capacity and performance. Mitigate network vulnerabilities to ensure information is safeguarded against outside parties.</li> <li>Test and maintain network infrastructure including software and hardware devices.</li> <li>Implement specific network solutions to support server requirements to include load-balancing, VPN's, firewall contexts, and network address translation (NAT) where appropriate</li> <li>Minimize network latency and maximize data throughput through design analysis and network performance monitoring tools.</li> <li>Optimize end-to-end system performance and dataflow management</li> <li>Coordinate with the system engineering and dataflow efforts to ensure proper mission operations to minimize down time.</li> <li>Design solutions, integrate, configure, deploy, test and provide ongoing maintenance for numerous types of network devices, interfaces and methodologies.</li> <li>Facilitate the implementation of high-speed, scalable, fault-tolerant network topologies as applicable to WAN and LAN design.</li> <li>Provides assistance in all aspects of network management from network design through implementation, maintenance and upgrading of existing networks.</li> <li>Analyzes design, specification, and related documents and implements communication system requirements to support the distributed functionality of a software engineering environment</li> <li>Analyze network characteristics (e.g. traffic connect time, transmission speeds, packet sizes and throughput), troubleshoots problems and recommend procurement of, and / or modifications</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <p><strong>What You Must Have:</strong></p> <ul> <li> <ul> <li><strong>Bachelor’s in </strong><strong>Engineering, Comp Sci, Technology, or Math&nbsp;(STEM Degree required)</strong></li> <li><strong>8 years’ experience as Network Engineer in programs that encompass system architecture, requirements analysis, process execution and evaluation.</strong></li> <li><strong>3 years of direct experience with IC or SIGINT activity</strong></li> <li>Experience with Cisco IOS, JunOS or equivalent</li> <li>Experience with VMware</li> <li>Experience with Switch VLAN setup</li> <li>Ability to demonstrate cyber/IT related experience with attention to detail, customer service, oral and written communication, and problem solving.</li> <li><strong>Active TS/SCI with polygraph</strong></li> <li><strong>Active DoD IAT Level II certification </strong></li> <li><strong>Active Cisco certification</strong></li> </ul> </li> </ul> <p><strong>What Would be Nice to Have</strong></p> <ul> <li> <ul> <li>Understanding of project design within the scope of security (RMF) requirements</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p><div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="description"><p></p> <p><strong>Pay Range:&nbsp;</strong>At GRVTY, we understand that compensation is influenced by many factors—such as geographic location, federal contract labor categories, wage rates, prior experience, skillsets, education, and certifications.<br>We’re proud to offer a work environment that empowers our team to achieve a strong work-life balance.
