Senior Accountant / Accounts Assistant Manager Colchester £40,000 - £50,000 This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice accountant to join a busy, friendly team where staff wellbeing is genuinely valued. Role Responsibilities Preparing statutory accounts through to final review stage. Producing annual accounts for sole traders, partnerships and landlords. Drafting personal and corporate tax returns. Preparing and submitting VAT returns to HMRC. Reviewing work completed by junior team members and supporting their development. Acting as a key point of contact for clients, responding to queries and maintaining strong relationships. Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients. Assisting with ad-hoc duties as required. Personal Requirements Minimum of four years' experience within an accountancy practice. AAT qualified, ACCA/CIMA part-qualified, or qualified by experience. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience using accountancy software such as Sage, Xero or QuickBooks. Ability to manage workload effectively under pressure.
