About the Role

Truly a great place to work, supportive and friendly team, lovely modern offices and some great in work benefits.Fully office based, Monday to Friday 37.5 hours a weekThey are seeking a Facilities Assistant to support the Health & Safety and Facilities teams by carrying out maintenance, repairs, and safety-related tasks across their premises.Role:Reporting to the Health, Safety & Facilities Manager, this role plays a key part in ensuring buildings, equipment, and workspaces are safe, functional, and compliant with health and safety standards.Working Conditions:This is a physical role which involves manual handling, lifting, and working at height. So please ensure that you are comfortable with this before making an application.Occasional working indoors and outdoors in varying conditions.Flexible working hours may be required to support operational needs.Day to Day:Facilities Maintenance:Carry out general building maintenance and minor repairs (e.g., plumbing, carpentry, painting, flooring).Respond promptly to maintenance requests and fault reports.Assist with room setups, moves, and minor refurbishments.Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify maintenance issues.Ensure tools, equipment, and storage areas are kept in good working order.Health & Safety Support:Assist with routine health and safety checks and inspections.Identify hazards and report issues to the Health & Safety or Facilities Manager.Support implementation of risk assessments and safe systems of work.Ensure safety signage, barriers, and equipment are correctly installed and maintained.Assist with fire safety checks, emergency lighting checks, and evacuation preparations.Help maintain compliance with relevant health and safety regulations and policies.General Duties:Work alongside the Facilities Co-Ordinator where required.Maintain accurate records of completed tasks, inspections, and maintenance logs.Follow all health and safety procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.Provide general support to the Facilities and Health & Safety team as needed.What you need to succeed:Skills and ExperienceProven experience in a maintenance or facilities role.Good practical knowledge of general building maintenance and repairs.Basic understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices.Ability to identify hazards and work safely.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.Good communication and teamwork skills.Qualifications (Desirable)Health & Safety training or certification (e.g., IOSH, COSHH awareness).Trade qualifications or relevant vocational training.First Aid or Fire Safety trainingIf this sounds like your next opportunity and you would like to find out more, then please contact me today to discuss your experience.Job Types: Full-time, PermanentBenefits:CanteenDiscounted or free foodFree parkingHealth & wellbeing programmeLife insuranceOn-site parking
