<p><strong>Job Title</strong>: BI Engineer<br /> <strong>Type</strong>: Permanent, Full-Time<br /> <strong>Location</strong>: North East or London (Hybrid &ndash; 3 days onsite)<br /> <strong>Sector</strong>: Transportation<br /><strong>Salary: </strong>Circa. &pound;48K&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Overview:</strong></p> <p>We&rsquo;re hiring a BI Engineer focused on delivering scalable, high-quality data solutions for reporting and self-service insight.</p> <p>Reporting to the Lead BI Engineer, you&rsquo;ll partner with developers and business stakeholders to deliver well-structured datasets and reliable data pipelines. The role requires a blend of technical delivery and the ability to translate business requirements into effective data solutions.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform, and prepare data</li> <li>Develop and optimise datasets for reporting and analytics</li> <li>Implement data transformations using SQL and Python (incl. PySpark)</li> <li>Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve performance of data pipelines and queries</li> <li>Apply data quality controls and maintain clear documentation</li> <li>Contribute to ongoing improvements in data architecture and tooling</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Translate business requirements into scalable data solutions</li> <li>Partner with BI developers to support reporting and dashboard needs</li> <li>Engage stakeholders and support adoption of self-service analytics</li> <li>Work with platform teams on architecture, scalability, and performance</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Follow engineering standards and contribute to continuous improvement</li> <li>Support incident management and ongoing maintenance of BI solutions</li> </ul> <p><strong>Skills &amp; Experience</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience with AWS data services (e.g. Redshift, Athena, S3, Glue, Lambda)</li> <li>Strong SQL skills</li> <li>Exposure to SnapLogic or similar integration platforms</li> <li>Proficiency in Python (including PySpark)</li> <li>Familiarity with modern data tooling (e.g. open table formats, DuckDB beneficial)</li> <li>Experience with version control (Git / CodeCommit preferred)</li> <li>Awareness of BI tools (e.g. QuickSight, Power BI, Tableau)</li> <li>Strong stakeholder engagement and requirements translation skills</li> </ul> <p>, </p>
